Voyagers - instrument discovery!
Try three different instruments whilst learning foundation music skills
Voyagers is our expert-led course for beginners to explore three different instruments, and grow fundamental music skills.
The course is suitable for children aged 6 or 7, or children aged 5 who have completed 1-2 terms of our Music Club course.
By the end of this course, each musical voyager will have:
• tried three different instruments
• learnt musicianship skills to underpin future musical achievement
• built confidence and performance experience
• received a personalised progress report from Greenwich Music School
• made some new friends through music!
Each session includes 25 minutes in a class of 9 to build core music skills through fun activities, songs and games; plus 20 minutes in a group of 3 to learn an instrument.
A lead teacher supports consistent skill development, and oversees the children’s progress over the term. Individual progress reports summarise each child's new and developing skills at the end of the term.
Instrument combinations:
- Mondays: Cello, Piano, Violin
- Fridays: Cello, Guitar, Piano
- Sundays: Drums/percussion, Piano, Violin
Please note these are subject to availability and may be changed without notice.
Voyagers provides a platform for young beginners to spend time trying out different instruments whilst building up musical skills each week and finishing the course prepared and excited to start instrument lessons.
All children who complete the course are eligible for 5% off the follow-on lessons during the next term. (Discount not applied automatically - please request during enrolment for the follow-on lessons.)
Voyagers is designed and led by award-winning music education expert and pianist Bethan Scolding MMus, Co-Founder and Principal of Greenwich Music School.
All instruments are provided during lesson time.
Please note the course normally includes 9 to 11 taught sessions.
