Financial support for students and families
Our Bursary Fund provides financial support towards lesson fees
We provide financial support to those most in need, prioritising children and young people. Eligibility is first assessed based on receipt of specific benefits, and if not applicable, by household income. To maintain bursary support, recipients must demonstrate high attendance and strong engagement.
The Bursary Fund can normally provide between 20% and 40% of lesson fees, up to a maximum of 80% for group courses. A limited number of places are available. Click the button below to apply.
Scholarships
Our Scholarship scheme is generously funded by the Portal Trust and supports a limited number of children and young people on the basis of both financial need and high potential for outstanding achievement in music. Scholarship places provide comprehensive support and can be used for one-to-one lessons, band or other group places. Applications are considered once a year - scholarships are currently open, and close on Friday 3rd October 2025.
Thank you to our supporters
The Bursary Fund is supported by donations, fundraising and legacies from supporters of Greenwich Music School, including the members of our Amici friends scheme, and the wider community of GMS students and families.
Special thanks to The Orinoco Foundation for their generous support, and thanks to Co-op Members Local Causes, ASDA Green Token Giving Scheme, Tesco Stronger Starts and the Arnold Clark Community Fund.
Special thanks to The Portal Trust, for their generous support of the scholarship programme.
