Helene Albrecht
Musicianship, piano
Helene is a passionate music teacher with wide-ranging experience across music fields and settings. She studied piano in Aachen, Germany and holds the Certificate of Piano Pedagogy from EPTA UK. From the start of her career as a piano teacher she explored early years music education, musicianship and children choirs and worked as Head of the Junior Department at the Musikschule Taunus in Eschborn, Germany.
Since living in Britain, Helene has refreshed her training with the British Kodály Institute and NYCOS and holds the British Kodály Certificates in Early Years, Primary and Secondary Methodology. She teaches at primary and secondary level, music schools, churches and privately and enjoys bringing together experiences and knowledge gained at various settings and across all age groups, making sure that learning is a sequenced, long-life process that is based on firm musical foundations.
Helene is an enthusiastic pianist and has performed as soloist and accompanist in Germany and Britain. She co-chairs the society of Women Organist’s Research Group on Works by Women Composers of Organ and Liturgical Works and is member of the Independent Society of Musicians and the International Society for Music Education.
