William Tsui is a cellist and cello teacher who is passionate about teaching and performing.

Before coming to the UK, William spent over 20 years in Hong Kong as a cello teacher, conductor and solo performer. He taught at the Hong Kong Music Office and was conductor of the Hong Kong Youth Strings. A veteran performer, he is regularly invited to perform by various groups and ensembles throughout Hong Kong; highlights of past performances include solo appearances with the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2007 and the Hong Kong Youth Strings in 2009, solo recital in 2008 and two cellos recitals in Australia and Hong Kong with Silvia Li in 2019.

As a cellist, William graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and finished his post-graduate training at Trinity College of Music, London.

His passion of teaching led him to establish his own music education centre Soundpost Arts and Music in Hong Kong. He believes all children can benefit from learning musical instruments. They may not all become great musicians but music cultivates the ability of independent thinking and problem solving and contributes greatly to success in life.
