Katie graduated with a First-class Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree from Birmingham Conservatoire in 2015. Whilst studying she won the Woodwind Prize 2014, a prestigious competition held annually at the Conservatoire. In the same year, she was Highly Commended in the British Flute Society Competition and a finalist in the Doris Newton Club Prize. Katie is currently studying for her Master of Arts degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance, where she is exploring combining theatricality with her playing. Katie has performed onstage as a flute-playing Blackbird in Bury Court Opera’s ‘Mad King Suibhne’, and in 2017 Katie spent 6 months touring on-stage in the production ‘Any Port in a Storm’ with Giffords Circus.

Katie is a passionate teacher with five years experience teaching privately and in schools across Birmingham and London. She loves helping students of all ages and abilities to realise their goals, and works towards these goals in creative and inspiring ways.
