Nicola Tagoe


Nicola is a flautist and music educator with over ten years' experience working together with families, children and young people. Alongside running a private flute teaching practice for students of all ages, Nicola is Access and Inclusion Lead for Ealing Music Service and has recently worked in partnership with Open Up Music to deliver a year-long creative music project for children on the Autism spectrum.

Nicola has led Early Years and Musicianship sessions with organisations including Fulham Children's Choir, Beanstalk Arts and Blackheath Conservatoire. She is the lead tutor for the Wandsworth Schools’ Music ‘SoundStart’ classes (Key Stage 1), and plays in a flute, harp and cello trio as part of Wigmore Hall's 'Chamber Tots' programme. Nicola is delighted to have been offered a place on the LEYMN (London Early Years Music Network) Apprenticeship Scheme 2020/21, to further develop her professional practice in Early Years Music.

Nicola has worked closely with students and organisations to explore and develop effective approaches to teaching online, including an action research project into the use of online technologies within one-to-one flute teaching. Nicola has led a number of exciting online courses for Greenwich Music School, including ‘Musical Beginnings’ for 0-1 year olds and their parents/carers, and ‘Discover Music’ for children in Years 3 and 4.
