Melissa Davies

Melissa is a soprano and singing teacher who is passionate about spreading her musical knowledge and helping students discover their voices. She studied Music at King’s College London and is currently finishing her MA at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance whilst working as a solo and choral singer. As an opera soloist she has sung with companies including Aylesbury Opera and for the Festi’val de musique in Provence. In the UK she has performed in venues such as the Wigmore Hall and The Royal Albert Hall, sings as a soloist for various choral societies and performs solo recitals around London. Melissa’s strong musicianship continues to shape her career, and she is in demand as a choral singer for contemporary repertoire due to the combination of her lyrical voice and strong sight-reading skills.

Melissa’s many years of experience teaching singing in schools, for music trusts and to private students have given her a versatile approach to musical education. She has led musical projects ranging from outreach sessions at schools to workshops for adults with learning disabilities. She has also taught the Kodály Method, and currently leads early years classes in Knightsbridge.

Her lessons are tailored to a wide variety of ages, levels, and styles of singing. She believes that pupils learn best in a positive learning environment and aims to see her pupils grow in confidence as their vocal technique improves. By making musicianship an integral part of lessons, she ensures that every student becomes a well-rounded musician.
