Bethan Scolding

A welcome from Bethan...

At Greenwich Music School we love music! Because of this, we believe in offering the very best, expert music education to all ages. Our early years classes are rooted in our understanding of teaching music from beginner to professional level, and offer a fantastic start for little ones to develop a lifelong love of making and learning about music!

Young children learn best when they are having fun, playing and exploring the world around them. Our classes are fun and full of play but every activity is also carefully designed with opportunities for children to develop their musical skills.

Some of the things that make GEYM special are fun, creative, playful learning; carefully structured classes that offer real progression through to school age and beyond; and tutors who have a passion for early years education, an understanding of how music skills develop and of how to encourage children’s natural musicality.

Songs & Sounds (9 mo-2 yrs)

We’ll be learning songs, moving to music, bouncing to rhymes, and exploring sounds with simple, child-friendly percussion instruments.

For the littlest ones (who won’t be singing themselves just yet!), seeing and hearing their loved ones sing and make music is fantastic for their musical development, and we’ll use touch, movement, and colourful scarves to involve all their senses in making music!

Music Makers (2 & 3 yrs)

We’ll be singing, exploring rhythm and pulse, and creating music with percussion instruments.

We’ll involve our whole bodies through dance and action songs and we’ll be learning basic musical concepts as we play, such as dynamics, tempo and pitch.

Parents and carers take an active part in the class and we have a lot of fun making music together!
