This foundation course in musicianship and instrument learning welcomes children to the world of musical instruments and developing musical skills and understanding. Over either one or two terms we’ll be exploring what it’s like to learn an instrument - the rewards and the challenges, the excitement and motivation, the practice routine and performance.

Children will learn musicianship skills that apply across all instruments, and they’ll get a feel for what music lessons involve.

The course focusses on ukulele as the key instrument for children to learn, and includes demonstrations of other instruments such as piano, violin, cello, clarinet, flute and singing.

This course is a great platform for trying out music lessons before committing to a particular instrument.

Get Set Play! leads on to our Junior Musicians Programme once children have reached Year 3 at school, to follow on with ukulele, guitar, violin, cello or flute.

A ukulele (£15-30) will be required to take part in this course.
